City Mix 2009: A celebration of all people

And a celebration it was! This past weekend we participated in the second annual "City Mix" , hosted by Community Living Toronto and sponsored by TD Bank Financial.

City Mix is a unique inclusive celebration focused on social inclusion for people of all abilities and featured information booths from various community organizations, food vendors, performers (including Lucas Hunter and Culture Shock) and commenced at 5pm on Friday Aug 21 and went into the warm starry night; ending at 10pm just after our performance.

We were honoured to be a part of such a great celebration at Nathan Phillips Square and want to thank everyone involved in the planning and prep (Karolina, Lance, Wayne and the whole CL & City of Toronto crew - you rock!) along with the organizations that came together to produce this great event: Alliance for Equality of Blind Canadians, Autism Ontario, The Canadian Hearing Society, Canadian Mental Health Association, Centre for Independent Living in Toronto, City of Toronto, The Mix Community Club, Ontario March of Dimes, Pegasus Toronto and Variety Village.

"City Mix" will surely gain popularity as the years go on and the celebrations continue. What a great message, and a great event.
